I guess I'll chock it up as the longest DHCP installation ever. So i removed the adapters from the bridge and voila DHCP started working. Thing I did was bridge the adapters while I was there assigning the address. When DHCP still didn't work I thought about what I had done and realized the only other I discovered this when I reinstalled the OS from scratch and added the DHCP role before doing anything else besides setting up the network adapter with a static address. My hardware is a Dell T130 with broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet adapters on-board the motherboard. I don't know if this is specific to my hardware or applies to Windows 2016 in general. As soon as I removed both adapters from theīridge and used just one independently DHCP started working. I bridged the adapters by selecting both, right clicking, and selecting 'Bridge Connection'. It turns out if I bridge the two network adapters DHCP doesn't work. I found the answer in case anyone is interested. ![]()
